Waiting to post content until you have "clarity on your offer" 👉 is THE reason you still don't know what you wanna sell next.
Once upon a time (back in 2020) I wanted to create a signature offer around my knowledge of 👉 trauma healing, nervous system regulation & business / money.
✅ I knew that I knew a lot about those topics.
❌ But I was NOT sure, how I should teach it in an offer, let alone describe it in my content.
So I spent 8 MONTHS 👵🏻 “figuring out”: “How to organize the offer so that I could THEN create content.. so that I could THEN finallyyyy launch and sell the offer.” 😵💫
I realized that sitting around trying to “get clarity on my offer” 🔍🙇🏻♀️😵💫 .. by brainstorming endless offer outlines? Wasn’t actually getting me any clarity.
AND it sure wasn’t:
❌ making me sales
😅 generating leads
👻 building my audience.
ON TOP OF THAT: I still felt impostery as fuck around selling an offer around these topics 🤡
Because I wasn’t actually sharing the valuable info I DID ALREADY KNOW, with anyone 🤐 (except for my google document lol)
Nor was I getting feedback 🗣️ that my audience even wanted to buy it or that it was helping them.
SO, I decided to try things the other way around. AKA: I started posting content 👉 BEFORE I WAS “CLEAR” ON WHAT I WAS GONNA OFFER/SELL.
I focused on sharing what I DID already know, one feed post at a time, for the audience I had.
This decision did some very valuable things for me ⇣
1️⃣ I stopped feeling like an imposter & started feeling confident + certain as fuck 👑 .. of the value I could provide, in a paid offer on these “new” topics.
2️⃣ My brain was now practicing TEACHING what I knew on these topics 👩🏻🏫🧠 (in the form of feed content) … and so it became way easier for me to outline the offer/trainings
(This next one is the most important part.)
3️⃣ By the time I DID finally “have clarity on the offer” & LAUNCHED IT to my audience? 🚀
I already had a hot audience of LEADS (aka people who had been loving my content on these new topics & wanted to go deeper). AND THEY BOUGHT RIGHT AWAY 💵💳 All because I started with creating + posting content before I was “clear”.
OH AND ⤵
💅 This is also exactly what I did when I transitioned from fitness coaching to business coaching back in August of 2017 🤑 I had a huge FITNESS following. But zero leads for BUSINESS COACHING (NOR had I ever posted business content).
GUESS WHAT I DID NOT DO?
❌ I didn’t sit around and “map out” a biz coaching offer.
BUT I DID..
✅ Spend a month doing FREE content on business coaching in a fb group for 20 people
By the end of that month of posting content:
I felt confident & ready to take my 1st client
I knew what I wanted to offer (without spending a single fcking day outlining in google docs LOL)
AND I had leads ready to buy.
That lil group, where I did free content, got me my first biz coaching client, who invested $4500.
So.. to summarize: clarity doesn’t drop on your damn head out of nowhere 😆 as you stare blankly into your Notion offer outline, for the 5th month in a row. It comes when you are actively BUILDING IT 👷🏻♀️🔨 by:
creating 1 feed post at a time
having 1 conversation with an audience member, at a time
